Have you seen the one whose god is his own ego? Will you be his advocate? [25:43]

Have you noted the one whose god is his ego? Consequently, GOD sends him astray, despite his knowledge, seals his hearing and his mind, and places a veil on his eyes. Who then can guide him, after such a decision by GOD? Would you not take heed? [45:23]

One of the first commandments in the Quran is to kill your ego (2:54). The Quran defines various forms of idolatry. One of the worse forms of idolatry is when a human makes his ego as his god. To such an individual his opinion is more important  than God. As God points out in 45:23 this could happen despite the knowledge of that individual.

"I will come to them from before them, and from behind them, and from their right, and from their left, and You will find that most of them are unappreciative." [7:17]

"You may entice them with your voice, and mobilize all your forces and all your men against them, and share in their money and children, and promise them. Anything the devil promises is no more than an illusion. [17:64]

The corruption to God's purified message began immediately upon the proclamation of the renewal of the message of worshipping God alone and the unveiling of the mathematical miracle of the Quran by God's messenger of the Covenant.

When Satan fails to to stop a person from worshipping God alone, he pushes that individuals's ego to come up with religious laws, regulations and beliefs, which have no basis in the Quran under the banner of "God alone, Quran alone." Thus the message of these lost souls is to follow their opinion under the banner of "God alone and Quran alone". To provide credence to their opinions some have declared them messengers. Others rely on the cructh of their knowledge or scholarly credentials.
