Islam is not radical by any standard as realized by studying its scripture, the Quran . There, however, appeared among the Muslims over the last 14 centuries groups of radicals who interpreted Islam in a totally corrupted way to serve their political and social agenda. While it is true that there are radical Muslims, there has never been a radical Islam as the media like to call it. Using the term radical Islam is the wrong use that reflects an ignorance with the facts.

These radical Muslims changed the teachings of Islam using the man made books of Hadiths and sunna (sayings and traditions falsely attributed to prophet Muhammad) that contradict the Quran and allow them all kinds of oppression, aggression and terrorism. By doing so, they have been breaking all the peaceful teachings of God in the Quran. They even broke the laws of the Quran itself by taking the verses out of context to serve their purpose. God is therefore very clear in commanding us NOT to take the Quran partially as taking the verses out of context or taking some verses while ignoring the other commands that clarify and set the limits on certain laws. I liked what David Forte wrote in one of his articles for The Ashbrook Center

"Islamic radicals hijacked airplanes to attack and undermine the West. They killed thousands of innocents without a single moral qualm. But their enmity is not just directed against us. They also mean to hijack Islam itself and to destroy 13 centuries of Islamic civilization. We are not in a war between two civilizations. We are fighting an enemy of two civilizations."

That is so correct that we, as Muslims (Submitters), who live in the West and have daily communication with people from different religions and cultures realized this common enemy of the True Islam and the enemy of the West. We are shocked watching our Islam being hijacked and distorted and we realize that we cannot stay silent anymore. God in the Quran condemns apathy. We cannot see our Islam being hijacked and not speak up or try to claim it back. Quran has a strong call on its true followers to stand against aggression and oppression, to respect human life, and the freedom for all.

[49:13] O people, we created you from the same male and female, and rendered you distinct peoples and tribes, that you may recognize one another. The best among you in the sight of GOD is the most righteous. GOD is Omniscient, Cognizant.
